About us
ARCS was founded in 1984 in response to Dr Robin Winkler's pioneering research into relinquishment and adoption. Dr. Winkler's research recognised adoption as a life long experience with unique and ongoing challenges for all parties to the adoption - birth parents, adopted people and adoptive parents. His vision for ARCS was to provide safe and specialist services whilst recognising and respecting all affected by adoption.
ARCS services have grown to include individuals and families dealing with issues of family separation and connection. We remain committed to hearing all, maintaining a balanced view and supporting individuals to draw upon their own unique strengths.
